I
am blessed by having wonderful parents.
I’ve tried to pattern my life as a mother after Wasie Radomsky Kulka.
Alex
Coffin and I have two grown children, Jon and Anna, and three granddaughters,
Katie, Lucy and Molly.
Alex
graduated from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where he ran
cross-country and track. He worked as a
newspaperman and is now in public relations and is interested in running and
reading.
I
graduated from the University of Alberta and the University of North
Carolina-Charlotte and Greensboro and work as a reference librarian at a
community college. I love to read, play
tennis and spend time with my family.
Alex and I are both active in church. We like to spend time with our
golden retriever, Maddie.
Our
son, Jon Coffin, got an accounting degree from Appalachian State University and
a law degree from the University of Tennessee.
He practices law in Knoxville, Tennessee, and does pro bono work for
“Saving Little Hearts,” an organization that works with infants with congenital
heart defects. Jon is a home
improvement expert (like my dad) and enjoys the outdoors.
Our
daughter-in-law, Dawn, is a consulting dietitian and has degrees from
Appalachian State University and Winthrop University. Dawn volunteers for various charities. She enjoys walking and
hiking.
Lucy
is their daughter, and she is one year old.
All three enjoy their dog, Taco, and cat, Raine.
Our
daughter, Anna Coffin Hunter, graduated from the University of North Carolina –
Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar and ran cross-country for the
university. She heads “Girls on the
Run,” a program that takes pre-adolescent girls and teaches them values and
self-confidence through running. Anna continues to enjoy running.
Our
son-in-law, Chris graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill
and Harvard and works in mergers and acquisitions. He does volunteer work with Samaritan House, an organization that
seeks to employ the homeless and also with Inner Harbour, a residential program
for abused children. Chris enjoys
golfing and is an avid sports fan.
Katie
and Molly are their daughters. Katie is
two years old, and Molly was born Feb. 22, 2004. They all live in Atlanta.
Our
family looks forward to meeting and seeing our Radomsky kin this summer.
